  17. Has anyone yet compiled Icon 9.4 to run under XDarwin?
  18. For those who may not know, this is the XFree86  port
  19. of X-windows for Darwin, the BSD 4.3 variant that Mac OS X
  20. runs on top of.  XDarwin is now a standard part of the
  21. XFree86 distribution.

  23. One of our tech support people here did manage to compile
  24. Icon 9.4 without either co-expressions or X-windows support;
  25. this was before the XDarwin port was available and he is now
  26. quite busy on other tasks, so I can't really ask him to try 
  27. to recompile it.  I'd be happy to attempt it myself, and 
  28. probably will at some point, but in my previous attempts
  29. I have found the business with coexpression support to be
  30. the major hangup in compiling Icon -- since the makefiles
  31. seem to expect an rswitch.X, where X = "c" | "s", and since
  32. they don't always seem to expect the same thing, I have
  33. found that I run into roadblocks on architectures like this
  34. that don't have a package yet.
